summary of the lesson

well its the final blog for this subject alr... final week for this semester too... and everyone is so busy. including me!!!! so many submission and bla bla bla.... i hate it!!!! overall i find that the lesson is quite interesting however, i don really like it alot becos of blogging and stuff... for myself i would rather do those calculations stuff which i thing is more practical.... blogging is jus not my cup of tea!!! the other thing i dislike about this subject is the portfolio... i hate it... i hate compiling and writing reports... but after all, i learnt alot of things from this subject... the least is the correct way to do research online... using the evaluation techniques i learnt in the subject, i guess i will be able to do a proper research next time!!! and im like so dead!!! becos i did compile the citation last time!!! i had to start looking up all the previous worksheets for the links and compile all together... well busy week for all students!!! all the best to all students taking exams!!!

Group Discussion

Actually i prefer to work in groups lo. becos more brains mahz.. haha there are good and bad working in groups la.. good thing is u can generate more ideas working in groups while the bad thing is,if ur group is nt cooperating, u have to do all the work by urself...  as a individual contributor, i have learn alot of thing from it lo... u will be able to take feedback from other about ur opinions which is sometimes really helpful in some ways.. however if u work alone, u will nt be able to hear feedback and u jus have to write based on what u think and feel.. if next time u are given a task to do group work, please choose ur members wisely... choose those who can really contribute ideas... this will really help u alot in ur group work!!! Wiki for my research??? well!!! it really depends on wat the research really ask for... if they ask for peoples point of view den most likely i will wiki for it.. haha... ALL THE BEST FOR UR UP COMING EXAMS!!!

HOLIDAY HOLIDAY HOLIDAY

Yes!!!! Holiday!!!! How i wish i can go taiwan for holiday!!! but nw is nt the time yet... because i have no money!!!! but i seriously feel like going taiwan because taiwan seems to be a place for me to relax and enjoy... there are alot of roadside food that seems to be delicious on tv... if i were to go taiwan, i also wan to go for its natural spa pool... in taiwan there is so many places of interest like the Alisan, sun moon lake, kenting and other natural heritage which is not found in singapore... the reason why taiwan is because i personally feel that taiwan and singapore have the same culture... jus that taiwan has alot of interesting places where singapore don have... with the same culture, i don tink i will have problem communicating and my meals wont be affected that much as well... look here is what i have got from the taiwan tourism board










i went to check out taiwan from its tourism board and i find that the webpage is very well design...

the web page clearly indicate the sub topic which enables user to select on the links that they want to browse... i believe the information that they provide are very accurate because it is a government website therefore the information that they provide must be very accurate so as not to tarnished its country reputation...it also covers alot of information on the travel guide, hotel and accommodation and places of interests which is a very important information that every tourist needs. the page also clearly indicate its purpose of the links and it is very accessible to users...

   

in second life things are not as wonderful as i thought of... the surrounding are so quiet and boring.... dont seems to be what i see on tv... the area is so open and i can hardly see crowds or roadside stalls...

 the shopping experience in the virtual world is so much different from going to the country and shop in real life... in real life shopping u can get to taste the real food and u are able to tried out clothes and stuff... the places of interest in secnond life is also very limited and i cannot get to try out the hot spring myself... after all i still prefer to shop in real life because u can get to enjoy all the shiokness of relaxing and shopping spree...


 

STOMP

STOMPING in class... Nice right??? can get to STOMP in class... haha, but we are not doing it jus for fun... it was one of the activity under the EIR subject... We have to evaluate the web page base on its purpose, coverage currency and etc... 

Frankly i feel that stomp is an average rating entertaining web page because although it contain alot of news, stories and stuff, its contain may nt be accurate as it is posted by public... some of them may jus have prejudice against others and therefore they start to make unpleasant comments on their pictures and video... however nt all the news cannot be trusted because some of the news are being extracted from the news papers... but what i like about stomp is that the article in in is all very up to date.... almost like everyday a new article will be added to it which make it very interesting because the new article may not be found in the newspaper...
the website is also design in a very accessible way and it is very user friendly... it is being group into mamy sub categories and with jus a simple click of ur mouse, u can go to the page that u wan...well as for the coverage of the stomp, all i can say that is is very limited... it only cover the local issues and the most two to three foreigns countries issues only... and the covered foreign issues is also very little... what the webpage emphasize is mostly on the local entertain circle like the GETAI, and those really really stupid news like young couples hugging in the train and stuff... i feel that it is very un professional because as a local, u shouldnt have post this kind of small issues online and let the public comment on it... this will affect the image on singaporeans... by doing so, u r jus making a disgrace on singaporeans and can u imagine if a foreigner is reading up on this webpage? what will he think on sngaporean???

if i were to set up a webpage, i would employ a qualified journalist to post articles for me... i wan a professional kind of webpage which allows user to be able to extract useful information for their research..

dear readers!!! sorry for nt updating my blog over the past few weeks. alot of things have to do and submission and bla bla bla. plus training for the IVP games worn me out too... WELL rest assure becos i will update on the things i hane miss out b this weekend!!! CHEERS

LESSON LEARNT AFTER 6 WEEKS

over the pass two weeks, i learn something new again!!! i learn about two new search tool. one of them is the metacrawler and the other is the subject directories... whats new abt them? well the metacrawler is somehow similar to the google search tool. the common thing i found about the metacrawler search tool is that most of the search result is obtain from google lo. so i don thing it will help me much in future when i do my research.. just go straight to google will do!! haha as for the subject directories, i didnt obtain much from there.. more like a website to find entertainment stuff. maybe if you are looking for books related to some topic u can try using subject directories.. it works like if u r looking for news related to sports, u have to go to the link that is under sports. after which a list of sports will appear and from there u can choose what type of sports and the news u are looking for!!! 

WIKI
another part of the activity that have been done is doing the wiki... any idea wat is wiki about?? well i am nt sure either. i jus know that its a place where u can put in information, and edit on information found in there. and i did my part by contributing pictures and information related to the formation of the tsunami. i hope it helps!!! haha and if u guys found some error in it, pls do update it so that others will be able to gather the most relevant information from there!!!

TERM TEST
wats coming up next week??? YES!!! its the term test!!! gosh... this semester is so short!!! next week is term test alr and im nt prepared for it!!!! how i wish term test can be like 2 more weeks later!!! time table is so rush!!! haiz... ALL THE BEST TO ME!!!!!

E-Learning

No lesson for EIR today.... But E-learning was rather hard lo... Have to log in to 2nd life and do online shopping... Don really like it lo cos its like so hard and so complicated... And it is very lag!!!! The navigations and stuff was rather Chui!!! its like so hard to use la!!! I DON LIKE 2ND LIFE!!!! But well i did do some shopping online!!

Process of making friends!!! haha It was quite cool lo cos in real life I bet u wont have the guys to go ard and talk to strangers esp when there is like stabbing cases recently in town... Haha... But i still do like 2nd Life to some extend...
 Well it is rather relaxing to shop in the 2nd life as the ambiance is what u will nvr get in real life... in the virtual world u wont get to fly around... haha and u wont get to see big shops!!! and the big shops are real BIG... like one building which consist of multiple level is one shop.. and there are buildings everywhere...

Well as compare to the online shopping i did two weeks back, its kind of different because shopping on websites i jus look at the pictures online and click here click there... in the virtual world u get to walk here and there, maybe fly up and down, but one thing in common i found is that both can only show u pictures... u cant try on the clothes that u may like to buy in the virtual world... The very different feeling is that u r putting urself in the virtual world and u walk ard places like we do in the real world... But seriously i don really like to play in the 2nd life because I find it hard to move ard places... All the navigation are so hard to use and understand... The most challenging thing today is when i was try to meet my friend in the virtual world... i tried to walk ard here and there but still couldnt find her... Den when i wan to search for a place, the search result sometimes couldnt be found!!! so is like so TROUBLESOME!!! Don really like it!!! But after all it was still an interesting lesson for the subject!!!
